What solicitors can get away with:
If they do poor work it’s you that suffers. Here are some of our examples.
Not reading a contract out to you and explaining it in a language that you would understand. My solicitor handed me a contract that was not in my interest in any way, all it did was benefit the other party.
I was made to stand by a contract that I couldn’t read because of my dyslexia. My disability was ignored by a judge, he wouldn’t even believe me when I had things read to me in court.
Not presenting all the evidence that I requested in court. This means that you cannot bring it up later, it has to be presented to the judge and the other side up front.
I had employed a solicitor to make sure the contract was fair to me.
There’s no use complaining to the Law Society about shoddy solicitors like I did, I showed them evidence of dishonesty and fraud. You think that they have all the brains and expertise to judge the work that has been done badly but they don’t do anything about it.
So, don’t worry about the solicitor on the other side trying to get things past you – worry about the one on your side who can do more damage.
